Coding Workshop – Autumn Coding

The workshop introduced children aged 4 to 6 to the basics of coding, encouraging curiosity and familiarizing them with the Scratch Jr. platform while teaching simple programming skills through visual commands and colored instruction cards. Using Bee‑Bot robots, autumn leaves, tablets, Scratch Jr., and robot mats, the children worked in three groups: one created autumn‑themed digital stories in Scratch Jr., while the other two programmed the Bee‑Bot to collect colorful leaves and navigate obstacles to reach a pumpkin. They first planned their sequences with arrow cards and then transferred their ideas into real robot movements. Through these activities, the children learned key coding concepts such as sequencing, planning, and debugging, as well as collaboration, problem‑solving, and understanding that robots follow only the commands they receive. They confidently combined digital tools with real‑world themes, showing creativity, independence, and enthusiasm. The workshop concluded with an international video call where children proudly presented their work, highlighting strong engagement, teamwork, creative storytelling, and improved spatial and logical thinking.
